Michael Stewart the proprietor of Quick Silvers.
Michael
Stewart has been a sculptor of many years and has a masters degree in arts
from Cal-State Northridge. He became interested in ancient coins and apprenticed
with a tool and dye maker to learn the art of engraving and striking impressions
upon metal.
Upon learning this trade he applied to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in the early 80's and began striking silver coins with 6 dies and a sledgehammer. A few years later, after a study of Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings of DROP HAMMERS, he constructed one for use at Faire. He now has several drop hammers and appears at numerous faires and festivals across America.
